Happy Birthday The big 13!!!
As of Sunday, March 22, 2009-I am the mother of two teen-agers!!! Andrew turned 13-the house is still rocking to the sound as he is letting us all know he's a teenager and should be able to watch PG-13 movies now without question!!! I don't know if we'll ever recover! What was I thinking when I had a baby when Blake was just a one! Two boys on a mission in a few years is not going to be easy on my heart!!!
Andrew is the most crazy, loving person I know. He is consistent with one thing...making me laugh every day. Just when you think life gets a little dull here comes Andrew with something crazy. Like-when in the world am I going to get my armpit hair....my body would be so much hotter with armpit hair!!! (OooooKkkkkk-I never know what to say-so I laugh) He seems to be a great mixture of Uncle A, Uncle Bill, Papa, and his cousin Bryan. I am just not sure which one is most like. He's very random like his papa-he's always saying the craziest things!!! I love his personality! He is the light of our lives and a joy to watch grow. If you are his friend on facebook you'll know that he is weekly changing girlfriends-we laugh so hard when he's "in a relationship" again!!! (I don't know where he would get such a thing) He is very smart bringing home straight A's and studying very hard. He has one more year of middle school! I am so grateful for his light of christ that he is always trying to choose the right and that he has a conscience when he chooses wrong. He teaches me unconditional love. He loves everyone so much and wants them to be happy!!! He worries about everyone-his aunt brandi and cousins are in texas he worries until they are home-he prays for his uncle bill daily while he is searching for a job-he prays for me to pass the praxis! He is always so thoughtful in remembering his family and friends always. Andrew Warren....I am so proud of the teen-ager that you are! I am excited to watch you grow-your light shines so bright. I am so lucky to have you for a son!

STATE CHAMPION!!!
Today all Blake's hard work paid off. It was an amazing day --one of those days a mama will not forget! I wanted to write about it while the feelings are fresh!
Blake has had an amazing season! He started out this year wrestling for the middle school. He told me all summer this was going to be his year! I have to say...I was proud of his desire but I felt nervous for him. Compared to years in the past...he won some but nothing really major!!! I seriously had my doubts! As he started out the year he decided on his own to cut out sugar and junk from his diet and eat healthy during the weeks when he had big tournaments. He took salad, fruits, whole wheat wraps and veggies in his lunch box. I was amazed. I couldn't even eat as healthy as he was eating. He said he could tell a big difference when he ate well and got enough sleep! He didn't loose any of his middle school matches the whole season. AAU season started with a bang as soon as middle school ended. I was tired....feeling done I really pushed for him to take a break. He said he wanted to try for state!!! He went on match after match...ended up loosing only 3 matches during AAU! But he still kept pushing on! Soccer season started and I really expected state to go by the wayside...still he pushed and worked harder! He would go to soccer then have a high schooler to work him out for wrestling! Running on the weekends, working out in the garage-he was persistent and proved me wrong.
I can't believe his desire and motivation. He has been an amazing example that we can do anything if we put our mind to the task! Today Blake won first place at state. It was a special moment for our whole family-Leah Beth, Caroline, Andrew, Uncle Bruce, Parker , Steve, and I couldn't sit still. Tears of joy and excitement for this amazing hard working 14 year old filled the gym as friends and family watched him succeed to something he had worked so hard for. Blake, you are truly incredible! Everyday I watch you in wonder! Way to go! Like Uncle Bill says sometimes you have to loose to win...all that hard work from last year and loosing made you decide you wanted to win and today you put the theory to the test. We are so proud of our state champion!

land closing and date night fun friday!
This morning we closed on our land! We have been so excited to finally get some land before our kids are all grown!!! I am pumped to have a creek for some creek pictures.

Next we had a fun date night with some of our buddies. Thanks to jack and rhonda for helping us stay on track and set a date to get together! It is always so much fun to hang out with them! We had our kids go to other people's houses and we hung out and played some games. That Bruce and brandi won and won and won!

math test!!!
I just finished a midterm in my math class...anyone who knows me realizes I am not a math whiz (unlike my brother who has a degree in the crazy subject of math)...I have studied my heart out...for hours and hours. I went to bed thinking about (If PthenQ) woke up at 3AM 4AM and got up at 5 AM thinking about T^T..BUT .I think I did it...I think I passed...this is one of those classes that I will be perfectly fine with a D!!!! So if possible could my brother send me some of his math skill cells...I would appreciate it to get me thru this class and one other math class I have to take this summer! why in the world I need this to teach kindergarten-I will never know but for now I sure know that T^T=T!!!!!!!
Thanks babe for taking the kiddos to school so I could go in early to study more! I couldn't do this without you! So you say you'll take me out to my fav. resturant if I make an A on the test-but I think if I make an A you should do laundry and all the cooking for a week and out to eat! Ha!

Caroline dog-sat Grandma's dog, Lady, this weekend while Grandma went to GA. On Valentine's Day we made Caroline one of those cute little tutu's we had seen some where! The next thing I know Caroline was making Lady one. She had that dog all dressed up and ready to go shopping!

Running in the RAIN!
Today I had an exam at 12:40. The bottom of the sky dropped at 12:20 just as I was walking into class. I didn't bring my backpack since it was an exam...I only brought my pencil- no unbrella. Not to mention the wind was so hard all the umbrella's I could see were folding inside out. I started running as fast as I could to the building that was about a 1/2 mile away from where I was parked. As I ran I had to laugh when I looked around to notice all the 20 year olds were dressed in the latest, cutest rain boots and raincoats. As I ran I thought this would've been fun if I wasn't running to take a test. I can't tell you the last time I ran in the rain. Then I started to feel the urge...too many babies I have had-the bladder issues that we as mom's get when we are running! I guess it really wouldn't have mattered I was wet any way...Ha...I had to stop for a pit stop in the nearest building! Then finish running my way to the building for class! Dripping wet from head to toe I arrived to class right on time. All the 20 year olds were pleasantly dry and warm with their cute dry hair, while I took my test in the dripping wet wet wet clothes and hair! My test got soaked from the dripping. My seat was soaked! The puddle around my seat was huge! The professor laughed so hard. Maybe I'll get a better grade for effort! Needless to say guess what I'll be purchasing tomorrow!!!! You got it the latest rain boots and cutest raincoat.

building relationships
I am in the middle of writing a paper on building relationships with children...how it is important to have relationship so that you can establish a good learning environment...etc. etc. Some of the pointers in the research, although most of us know, I thought was really neat and great reminders to building our relationships with our own families. I love reading stuff like this because it reminds me what is most important!
Ask the child questions about them so that you can get to know them.
Have conversation while they eat.
Listen to the child's ideas and stories
write the child positive notes
share information about yourself and find something in common with the child
post the child's work
have "star" child for the week
Acknowledge the child's efforts
Find out the child's favorite book and read it so you can discuss it with them.
Write all the special things about a child on a t-shirt and let him wear it (assuming this is a young child-I am sure my 14 year old would appreciate wearing a shirt all about him!!!)

Kicking my tail!
This semester is kicking my tail. Last semester I think I was able to stay ahead a little although it was busy I still felt like I was one step ahead...I am sinking over here. I can't seem to finish one project before the next one is due. Wonder if I'll totally loose my mind when I am doing my practicums! No wonder people start drinking in college!!! Ha Ha! My hat goes off to single moms trying to juggle this with kids and no spouse to help out with paying the bills! I only work 2 days a week right now and I feel like that is too much. I couldn't imagine trying to stay afloat alone.

4. I own a photography business and have since 2002. It is great side money and works with a flexible schedule but not stable income.
5. I hate to make my bed in the morning but I love to come home to a bed that is made!

7. I hate hate to cook but have a wild crazy dream to publish my own cookbook!
8. I love to do a family budget and figure out ways to save money!

10. My son Blake 14 is my math tutor. I pay him 20 for 2 weeks of work. He helps me every night...cheap labor!
11. I don't really like animals but our dog Bella made her way into my heart and I can't imagine life without her!

Blake's first stake dance!
Blake went to his first stake dance this past Sat. night. He was lucky because his cousin Spencer was here to go with him. I can not believe he is old enough for stake dances already. I remember our kids were little-we used to talk about when they got old enough for stake dances. I could imagine them there with my brother's kiddos. It seemed like it would be so many years away from then and here it is right up on me! I was shocked to find out he danced with more girls than his cousins Rachel and Lucy!!!

sleep over fun
Blake and Andrew are at a Mitchell's 13th birthday party so Leah Beth and Caroline had Jack Boone and Faith came over to party the night away! They have had so much fun. They are trying to find a way to move beside each other again!!!
Back to school for mom!
Yesterday was my first day back. It was so bitter, windy cold walking around all over that campus. It made me think of my Ricks College days. It was so cold then. I don't think I have ever been that cold.
My classes this semester are: Math 1010 (my advisor says I can't wait any longer to take this!!!), Art for Elementary school teachers (really cool class-we actually meet in the art studio-it's all hands on-And photograph them-LOVE IT!), Effective Instruction for children ages birth-five, Survey of the exceptional child (how to teach children with special needs or gifted), Evaluations strategies and multicultural education (how to asses and evaluate children-I think), and Geography! It should be an interesting semester! It was much more fun to go back than it was in the fall. I felt more relaxed and recognized more people!!! I already have so much homework-it's not even funny! I guess it's better to hit the ground running! Thank goodness for Blake (my built in math tutor-he just needs a lesson on patience for teaching his mom!)
Oh and I had to leave really early -normally I can take the kids to school and make it to my classes by 8 but couldn't yesterday....Steve tells the kids-I don't have any super powers like your mom-so you guys HAVE GOT TO GET UP AND HELP ME! When I picked up the kids after school they ever so happy to see me. It was nice. Blake said, " I think Dad was a little stressed this morning! It took all of us and we still didn't get done what you do in the mornings!" I was totally impressed when I got home though. They had made my bed and started the laundry!!!!

Rockin out with Celine Dion
BABY-BABY-BABY!!!
Our good friends Jack and Rhonda (they were our neighbors for eight years) surprised us with the most fun gift ever. We were to be at their house at 4:15. Shortly after we arrived we looked outside to this!!!!
We went on the most amazing couples date ever! We went to eat at a yummy place called Stoney River and then on to Celine Dion concert riding in style! Our tickets ended up getting switched because of stage equipment which ended up putting us so close! We sat so close if she would've bent over she could have touched us!!!!!!!!! It was absolutely amazing. She put on the greatest show. I think Steve and I are still in shock. We are so blessed with great friends! My first time ever to ride! Oh what a night!!!!
