Blake's first stake dance!
Blake went to his first stake dance this past Sat. night. He was lucky because his cousin Spencer was here to go with him. I can not believe he is old enough for stake dances already. I remember our kids were little-we used to talk about when they got old enough for stake dances. I could imagine them there with my brother's kiddos. It seemed like it would be so many years away from then and here it is right up on me! I was shocked to find out he danced with more girls than his cousins Rachel and Lucy!!!

sleep over fun
Blake and Andrew are at a Mitchell's 13th birthday party so Leah Beth and Caroline had Jack Boone and Faith came over to party the night away! They have had so much fun. They are trying to find a way to move beside each other again!!!
Back to school for mom!
Yesterday was my first day back. It was so bitter, windy cold walking around all over that campus. It made me think of my Ricks College days. It was so cold then. I don't think I have ever been that cold.
My classes this semester are: Math 1010 (my advisor says I can't wait any longer to take this!!!), Art for Elementary school teachers (really cool class-we actually meet in the art studio-it's all hands on-And photograph them-LOVE IT!), Effective Instruction for children ages birth-five, Survey of the exceptional child (how to teach children with special needs or gifted), Evaluations strategies and multicultural education (how to asses and evaluate children-I think), and Geography! It should be an interesting semester! It was much more fun to go back than it was in the fall. I felt more relaxed and recognized more people!!! I already have so much homework-it's not even funny! I guess it's better to hit the ground running! Thank goodness for Blake (my built in math tutor-he just needs a lesson on patience for teaching his mom!)
Oh and I had to leave really early -normally I can take the kids to school and make it to my classes by 8 but couldn't yesterday....Steve tells the kids-I don't have any super powers like your mom-so you guys HAVE GOT TO GET UP AND HELP ME! When I picked up the kids after school they ever so happy to see me. It was nice. Blake said, " I think Dad was a little stressed this morning! It took all of us and we still didn't get done what you do in the mornings!" I was totally impressed when I got home though. They had made my bed and started the laundry!!!!

Rockin out with Celine Dion
BABY-BABY-BABY!!!
Our good friends Jack and Rhonda (they were our neighbors for eight years) surprised us with the most fun gift ever. We were to be at their house at 4:15. Shortly after we arrived we looked outside to this!!!!
We went on the most amazing couples date ever! We went to eat at a yummy place called Stoney River and then on to Celine Dion concert riding in style! Our tickets ended up getting switched because of stage equipment which ended up putting us so close! We sat so close if she would've bent over she could have touched us!!!!!!!!! It was absolutely amazing. She put on the greatest show. I think Steve and I are still in shock. We are so blessed with great friends! My first time ever to ride! Oh what a night!!!!

God Blessed me with Sisters!
Finally my girls are getting to a precious time in their lives when I can watch and admire them being sisters. Caroline age 7 and Leah Beth age 10 are perfect ages to celebrate sisterhood.
I was one of the girls growing up that always wished for a sister. I thought it was so neat to watch my childhood friends Betsy and Mary Beth with their sisters. In fact, there were many times that I was completely jealous that they had sisters and I didn't. Not trying to take away from my one great brother, who we now call Uncle A. He is like having about six brothers all in one person!(just ask his wife) We were pretty close growing up since it was just the two of us we didn't really have a choice! I loved the way we were but it still didn't take away my desire for a sister! My mother, being the only girl of four brothers, totally understood my need for another girl. We were very close. She was the nearest thing I could get to a sister with shopping and sharing clothes. After I married Steve, I gained immediate sister in laws, Cheryl, Chrys, next came my brother's wife Cynthia, and last was Brandi. I love all my sister in laws and mother in law dearly and feel very close to each one of them. The Lord has blessed me with the best girl friends who walk through life with me and laugh and cry with me all the time! I have lots of sister substitutes! There really is a point to all this jibber!!!!
This morning the boys had already left to a wrestling meet when I woke to the sweet sound of two beautiful sisters singing "Love Story". My heart absolutely melted. They were dressing up in heels with make-up singing away. I get to experience sisterhood first hand in my own home. I feel so blessed.
After having two boys I was so excited to have a sweet little girl. Very soon after she was born we decided to have another baby hoping for a girl so they could be close in age just like the boys. 13 weeks and 2 days of being very sick with pregnancy I woke one morning and didn't get sick. I knew immediately something was wrong. I was always sick. A very long story that I will shorten....ultrasounds confirmed what I was right. The baby had stopped the process of growing. There was no longer a heart beat and I was having a miscarriage. I was devastated...wanting my LB to have a sister so bad....how could this be. Why me? All the emotion that comes with a miscarriage...came strong. It was one of the hardest times of my life. 10 months later we were given the green light and soon after that we were so blessed with a precious girl sweet Caroline. She was so worth all the pain and sickness- gestational diabetes, health problems. We finally had our sister! I think over the years of just being busy with kids I really haven't taken time to appreciate the girls sisterhood. This morning it totally hit me like a ton of bricks. I am so grateful that Heavenly Father trusted me with two of his daughters to watch grow and their sisterhood develop. And while there is so much to do, clean, and teach them-today-for no reason we will be celebrating sisterhood! No boys allowed!
We started with Jon and Kate plus 8, a beading session, a picture session, a shopping session, ice cream and cuddling on the couch while watching Love Comes Softly #6!

This past July our family took a small vacation to Nauvoo. On the way home we stopped at the St. Louis arch. We had so much fun just being together and turning off the cell phones! I didn't take the time to blog after the vacation but I really wanted to finish up last year's pictures for my blurb book. It might be boring to some but this is a scrapbook/journal for me so I have to add it all!
